The Dempsey Racing Team Group Meet and Greet

Okay, to preface, Patrick Dempsey is/was racing in the Rolex 24 Hour Race in Daytona Beach, Florida. I just so happen to live in Daytona when I’m not living in Orlando for school so I pretty much jumped on trying to go as soon as I found out you could buy tickets with a special meet and greet with Patrick Dempsey and his racing team.
Anyway, my mom and I got there first so we were able to score the BEST seats. First row, DEAD center.
When Patrick and the team came in everyone was obviously clapping and cheering and he was waving and saying hello and just being generally perfect by just existing.

So he goes to the chair DIRECTLY in front of me and I’m smiling like a damn fool ready to hyperventilate. He was still waving and saying hi to the audience as he sat down and, because I was literally 5 feet right in front of him, he looks right at me, gives me a small nod and a smile and says “hi”.
I bout died on the spot.
So then they all sit down, introduce everyone, and start talking about the charities they run and what our ticket money went towards.
Now, I promise I really tried to look at the person who was talking, but Patrick Dempsey was sitting a mere 5 feet directly in front of me and, as much as I didn’t think it was possible, he’s even more gorgeous in person. That being said, I really couldn’t go longer than 20 seconds (if that) before looking away from the person talking and staring without shame.
One of the drivers was talking about a children’s hospital and, while I was listening, I was taking time to gaze at Patrick as well. This time my timing and the location of my seat paid off because just as I turned my attention to him, a second later he made direct eye contact with me. Of course that was more than enough to make me break out in a huge smile.
As if eye contact weren’t enough, he smiled back. Not like a polite grin or an awkward ‘why is this girl staring at me all the time?’ smile. A real, huge, show all your teeth, lights up your face, ‘I’m Patrick-Fucking-Dempsey and I have the ability to turn you into a quivering mess so I’m going to’ smile.
So, for four GLORIOUS seconds of full eye contact, Patrick Dempsey smiled at me.
All arguments are forever invalid.
The rest of the meet and greet was obviously wonderful. They let some people ask some questions and he was just as genuine and personable as I thought he’d be.
I actually didn’t even notice until I was going through my pictures, but he smiled right into my camera for one of my pictures! So when I post that picture, that’s not the smile I was talking about but I think you’ll find it’s still pretty heart stopping.
After about 40 minutes, they all had to go so they could get set up for the autograph session. But that story is for Part II :)
Also, I ask you not take my pictures. I’ll make a post with a these and a few other pictures for people to reblog. But since I know some people are going to take them anyway, I’m unfortunately not posting all my pictures.
